193 illegal structures demolished in Gopalganj

GOPALGANJ, June 15, 2025 (BSS) - In a joint drive led by the local administration, 193 illegal structures were demolished in Kotalipara upazila of the district this morning.

The drive took place in Ghaghar Bazar, Mahuamor and RDO areas and was conducted under the supervision of executive magistrates Russell Munshi and Prabir Kumar Biswas from the Deputy Commissioner's Office.

According to officials, the 193 demolished structures were illegally constructed on lands owned by the Zilla Parishad, the Water Development Board and the Roads and Highways Department.

Md Azharul Islam, Executive Engineer of the Gopalganj Roads and Highways Department and Zakaria Ferdous, Sub-Divisional Deputy Engineer of the Water Development Board, were present, among others, on the occasion.

Members of the police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Bangladesh Army, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Ansar and village police joined the drive.
