SATKHIRA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - A fish trader was killed in a lightning 
strike at Kathbunia village of Khalilnagar union in Tala upazila of the 
district this afternoon. 

The deceased was identified as Lalit Mandal, 50, son of Bamcharam Mandal, a 
resident of Kathbunia village of the upazila.

Lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Lalit this afternoon when he was 
working at his fish firm next to his house, said Sheikh Shahinur Rahman, 
Officer-in-Charge of Tala Police Station.

He died on the way to Tala Upazila Health Complex.
