Five held with arms, ammunition in Khulna

KHULNA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - Members of joint forces in a six-hour drive today arrested five youths from two separate areas in the city.

The joint forces also seized one foreign-made pistol, two rounds of ammunition and 270 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from their possession.

The arrested are Md Razu Ahmed, son of Nurul Islam, resident of Rupsha Strand Road, Zunaed Hossain Munna, son of Shamsur Rahman, hailing from Shipyard area, Miraz, son of Showkot Hossain of Chanmari Masterpara area, Nirob Islam Zia, son of Md Zalal, resident of Chanmari second lane and Shamim Hossain, son of Hanif Shikder, hails from Rayenda Bazar of Shoronkhola upazila in Bagerhat. 

Police and local people said the law enforcement agency including the army and police went on drive around 12.30 am to 6.30 am today at three residences in the city.

The joint forces arrested them from the residence of Younus Talukder in the Chanmari area while they were planning to commit crimes in the city, Howlader Sanwar Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulna Sadar Police Station, confirmed.

A case was filed with Khulna Sadar police station in this connection.
