Two new COVID-19 cases detected in Khulna

KHULNA, June 17, 2025 (BSS) - Two female patients tested positive for COVID-19 at two government hospitals in the city today.

Dr Khan Ahmed Ishtiaq, Focal Person of the Corona Unit at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH), said the two women were diagnosed with coronavirus after being tested separately at KMCH and Khulna General Hospital this morning.

He said that there had been no significant impact of COVID-19 in Khulna after 2023, and this is the first time since then that two new cases have been detected in the district.

Since KMCH began COVID-19 testing on March 23, 2020, it has treated around 13,000 patients, with over a thousand deaths recorded.
