Illegal structures evicted from Rajshahi Padma embankment

RAJSHAHI, June 18, 2025 (BSS)- All illegal structures were evicted from the 
T-groin and I-embankment on the city protection embankment from erosion of 
the river Padma here today.

District administration and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) jointly 
conducted the eviction drive from 11 am to 2.30 pm at a stretch.

Executive Magistrate SM Rakibul Hassan led the drive.
 
BWDB Sub-divisional Engineer Rashedul Islam and Sub-assistant Engineer Abu 
Huraira and Investigation Officer from Rajpara Police Station Abdul Alim were 
present on the occasion.

SM Rakibul Hassan told BSS that the eviction drive was conducted to ensure 
security of the city protection infrastructures along with protecting the 
natural environment and scenic beauty of the Padma River adjacent to the 
city.
