Number of Covid-19 cases on rise in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 18, 2025 (BSS) - The number of Covid-19 cases in Chattogram has been gradually increasing for 10 consecutive days.

A total of six people tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after testing 150 samples at six designated laboratories in Chattogram. Ten people were diagnosed on Tuesday, and nine on Monday.

On Sunday, five people tested positive, followed by four on Saturday and three on Friday. Two cases were reported each on Thursday (June 12), Wednesday (June 11), and Tuesday (June 10).

According to reports from the laboratories, six new patients tested positive after testing 90 samples in the last 24 hours ending this morning, said Dr Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram district.

With these new detections, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Chattogram has risen to 48. Of them, 39 are residents of the port city, while the remaining nine are from various upazilas in the district.

The number of recoveries has reached 44 with seven more patients recovering during this period. 

Currently, 37 infected patients are undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals in the city.
