World Day against Child Labour observed in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR, June 19, 2025 (BSS) – The World Day against Child Labour-2025 was observed in the district, as elsewhere in the country, today.

The District Administration and the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) jointly organized a discussion meeting at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner.

Deputy Commissioner Hasina Begum presided over the meeting.
In her speech, the Deputy Commissioner said the government has been working to stop child labour and emphasized the need to create awareness among all people. She also stressed the importance of technical education for children to turn them into skilled manpower.

Additional Superintendent of Police Yahiya Al Mamun, Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammad Azizul Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Iftekhar Eunus, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Kamrunnahar, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (Jamalpur District Unit) Maulana Muhammad Abdus Sattar, and Upazila Primary Education Officer Zahidul Islam, among others, spoke at the meeting.

Inspector of DIFE Mizanur Rahman read out the keynote paper on the day, while Inspector Asaduzzaman conducted the meeting.

Earlier, a rally was brought out from the Dewanpara area in the district town.
