“The media workers should be more careful in verifying the authenticity of the source before publishing or presenting any news,” he said.

As a result, the extent of child marriage, dowry, drug addiction, online betting and other criminal activities is decreasing in the society.

“The media makes the government and the state interested in playing an effective role by publishing reports on corruption, social inequality, climate change and rumors,” he said, and called on media workers to be responsible in their work.

The participating journalists said that it is important to enact a journalist protection law to ensure the safety of journalists as they are always suffering from insecurity in reporting news on child marriage, rape, online gambling and drugs.

They also said that the information related to public interest should be published on the websites of the government offices to ensure the free flow of information.
