RANGPUR, June 20, 2025 (BSS) -Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 25.5 kg of ganja from the Talukbani Nagar area under Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat district on early Thursday.

"An operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur battalion headquarters conducted a drive and searched a microbus in the area. They recovered a huge quantity of smuggled ganja, seized the microbus and arrested the duo from the spot at around 6:05 am," said a press release issued by the elite force.

The detainees are Md Sajib Islam, 27, son of Md Tauhidul Islam of Noyapara village and Md Ashraful Islam, 25, son of late Sayed Ali of Jamilapur village under Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur district.

After filing a case in this connection, the arrested persons, along with the seized ganja and the microbus, were handed over to Kaliganj Police Station for taking further legal action, the release added.
