CHATTOGRAM, Sept 18, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested two leaders of the Jubo League from the Borapul area under Bandar thana in the city today.

The arrestees were identified as Bishwa Raj Dev, 31 and Md. Nur Alam, 30, confirmed Bandar Thana Officer-in-Charge (OC) Aftab Uddin.

Earlier, on September 15 around 10 pm, activists of banned groups including Chhatra League, Awami League, Jubo League and their affiliates brought out a torch procession at the south side of Borapul intersection on Port Connecting Road. 

They were chanting anti-government slogans while carrying sticks, bricks and stones with the intent of creating panic and endangering public safety.

Following investigation, police arrested Bishwa Raj Dev and Nur Alam for their alleged involvement in the incident. 

They have been charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act and produced before the court.
