Police offers Tk 10,000 reward for information on Sundarbans pirates

SATKHIRA, Sept 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district Mohammad Monirul Islam has announced a Taka 10,000 reward for anyone providing information regarding the activities of Sundarbans pirates operating within the Satkhira Range.

The SP made the announcement while addressing a beat policing meeting as the chief guest at Gabura Union Parishad of the district on Thursday. 

In addition to the reward announcement, Monirul Islam said strict measures will be taken against online gamblers.

Furthermore, he instructed the compilation of lists identifying teachers who fail to attend school and students who are absent from educational institutions.
