Two Juba League activists held with fake currency, walkie-talkie in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) - Member of Kotwali Police under Chattogram 
Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two activists of Juba League along with 
186 fake currency notes of Taka 500 denominations and two walkie-talkie sets 
from Old Railway Station parking area this morning.
 
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Abdul Karim said, on a secret 
information, a team of the Kotwali police arrested Md Azim, 30, and Md Sohag, 
36, who have been involved actively in Juba League politics and running fake 
currency business for a long in the area.
 
The arrested admitted that they used to exercise the wireless devices for 
running their illicit trade smoothly.
 
Azim hailed from Agunshile village under Chowddagram upazila in Cumilla 
district and Md Sohag hailed from Asharkota village under Nagalkot upazila of 
the district.
 
A case has been lodged with Kotwali Police Station and later they were 
produced before a metropolitan magistrate court today, the OC added.
