Two get life imprisonment in Munshiganj murder case

MUNSHIGANJ, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced two people to 
life-term imprisonment in a murder case which was held at Sirajdikhan upazila 
of the district in 2017.

Additional Sessions Judge (Acting) Khaleda Yasmin Urmi announced the verdict 
in presence of the convicts.

The court also fined them Taka 50,000, in default, to suffer one more year in 
jail. 

The convicts are Noor Mohammad Khan alias Nuru, 32, son of late Babul Khan of 
Uttar Basail village of the upazila and Md. Ayub Khan, 45, son of late Adam 
Ali Khan of the same area.

According to prosecution, on June 4, 2017, the convicts hacked Mujibur Rahman 
Khan, 52, to death in North Basail area. 

Later, Arif Hossain, son of the deceased, filed a case with Sirajdikhan 
Police Station. 

Additional Public Prosecutor Advocate Md. Nasim Akhtar Sumon said that after 
a long hearing, on the basis of the evidence, Additional Sessions Judge 
(Acting) Khaleda Yasmin Urmi gave the punishment.
