40,000 pieces of yaba seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 40,000 pieces of Yaba tablets worth about Taka 1.20 crore from the border area of Comilla district early this morning. 


“A BGB team from Golabari Post of Bibirbazar BOP in Adarsh Sadar Upazila conducted a drive in Keraninagar border area around 2.30 am and seized 40,000 illegal Indian Yaba pills,” said Cumilla BGB-10 Battalion commander, Lt. Col. Mir Ali Ejaz, confirmed the matter on Sunday afternoon. 


The estimated market value of the pills is around Taka 1.20 crore. 

Lt. Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz said that the Cumilla Battalion is working tirelessly to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the country in the border area under its responsibility as well as to prevent cross-border crime, smuggling and drug trafficking.
