Khulna BNP announces programmes to mark Martyred Intellectuals Day, Victory  Day

KHULNA, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS) - The Khulna city unit of the Bangladesh 
Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced elaborate programmes to observe 
Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14 and the Victory Day on December 16.
 
The programmes were announced on Thursday evening following a preparatory 
meeting of the city BNP.

As part of the programmes for Martyred Intellectuals Day, party leaders and 
activists will place floral wreaths at the Gallamari Mass Killing Memorial at 
one-minute past midnight on December 13, paying homage to the martyred 
intellectuals. 

Besides, a doa mahfil will also be held at 11 am on December 14 at the party 
office seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of martyred freedom 
fighters who were killed at the end of the 1971 Liberation War.

Marking Victory Day on December 16, wreaths will be placed at the Gallamari 
Memorial at sunrise in honour of the martyred freedom fighters.
 
A victory rally will be brought out from in front of the party office at 2.30 
pm.

City BNP President Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona presided over the preparatory 
meeting. 

Among others, General Secretary of the City BNP Md. Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, 
Masud Parvez Babu, Hasanur Rashid Chowdhury Miraj, Sheikh Hafizur Rahman 
Moni, Murshid Kamal, Molla Farid Ahmed, Asaduzzaman Asad, Sheikh Abdul Aziz 
Sumon, Robiul Islam Rubel, Syeda Nargis Ali, Engineer Nur Islam Bachchu, 
K.M.A. Jalil, Akhtaruzzaman Talukder Sojib, Sheikh Adnan Islam Deep, Istiak 
Ahmed Isti, Abu Sayeed Sheikh, Maulana Md. Abu Naeem Kazi, Hafiz Md. Al-Amin, 
Md. Mojibur Rahman, Md. Shafiqul Islam Shafi, Zakir Iqbal Bappy, Md. Nasir 
Uddin and Matlebur Rahman Mitul spoke on the occasion.
