NARSINGDI, Dec 12, 2025 (BSS) - Leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today held a special commemoration and prayer event in Palash Upazila seeking the quick recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

The programme, organized at 3 pm at the modern multipurpose auditorium of Palash Upazila, brought together nearly one thousand BNP leaders, activists and supporters. 

BNP Standing Committee Member and former minister Dr Abdul Moyeen Khan presided over the event, while Bahaauddin Milton, Joint Secretary of Palash Upazila BNP, conducted the programme.

Speakers said the nation is deeply concerned about the deteriorating health of Begum Zia and prayed for her early recovery.

They said Begum Khaleda Zia remains an uncompromising national leader who has played a pivotal role in strengthening democracy and they urged all party members to unite in prayer for her complete recovery.

The event also marked the 41st death anniversary of Abdul Momen Khan, a founding member of the BNP, former Minister, Cabinet Secretary and one of the key architects of modern Narsingdi. 

Participants recalled his contributions to the district and sought eternal peace for his departed soul.

The programme concluded with a special prayer for both Begum Khaleda Zia's health and the forgiveness of Abdul Momen Khan.

District BNP General Secretary Monjur Elahi, Narsingdi-4 BNP parliamentary candidate and Senior Vice President of Narsingdi District BNP Shakhawat Hossain Bakul, Shibpur Upazila BNP President and Freedom Fighter Abul Haris Rikabdar, Senior Vice President of District Jubo Dal Shahan Shah Shanu, Municipal BNP President Alam Molla, District Jubo Dal General Secretary Hasanuzzaman, and Member Secretary of Palash Upazila Chhatra Dal Mostafizur Rahman Papon also addressed the event.
