DHAKA, Mar 27, 2026 (BSS) – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-4 have arrested two alleged gunmen in connection with the killing of Pallabi thana Jubo Dal leader Golam Kibria in November 2025 and recovered a foreign-made revolver and three rounds of ammunition from their possession.

The arrestees were identified as Md Rashed alias Lopon and Md Jahangir Hossain alias Kallu.

“Acting on a tip-off, Lopon was arrested from the Eastern Housing area under Rupnagar Police Station in the capital on March 26, while Jahangir Hossain alias Kallu was detained from the Diabari area of Uttara on the same day,” a RAB press release said.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees said the killing took place over political rivalry and disputes over local dominance.

RAB said the killing was a well-planned operation involving a significant financial transaction. The two arrested men are professional shooters and have multiple cases registered against them in various police stations, including charges of murder, extortion, and drug-related offences.

Earlier, on November 18, 2025, RAB-4 had arrested two other accused in the case, Monir Hossain alias Sohel alias Pata Sohel and Sujon alias Bukpora Sujon.

According to the case statement, three masked and helmeted assailants entered the hardware store in Mirpur-12 Block-C under Pallabi Police Station around 6:40 pm on November 17 and shot Kibria dead.

The following day, the victim's widow, Sabiha Akter Dina, filed the case with Pallabi Police Station naming five people and seven to eight unidentified others.
