PANCHAGARH, March 27, 2026 (BSS)– State Minister for Water Resources Forhad Hossain Azad today stressed the urgency for elevating the Boda Upazila Health Complex with 100-bed facility to meet the necessity of the people here.
“Even on Friday, a total of 63 patients were admitted, forcing an additional 13 patients to stay on the floor. On other days, the number of patients increases further, often reaching between 70 and 90. In this situation, it is extremely urgent to upgrade the Boda Upazila Health Complex to a 100-bed facility,” he said.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after visiting Boda Upazila Health Complex in the district this noon.
The state minister said,” I have visited the hospital after 10 am and inspected cleanliness, drainage system, infrastructure, and ward management. Country’s healthcare sector witnessed a massive setback during the previous government.”
Expressing concern over the condition of the hospital, he noted that although the Boda Upazila Health Complex currently has 50 beds, it faces excessive patient pressure every day.
He also directed the hospital authority to improve the poor condition of the hospital’s drainage and cleanliness systems.
Pointing out the shortage of doctors and essential medical equipment, he said, “Initiatives would be taken soon to appoint at least a few consultants and medical officers andnecessary medical equipment would also be supplied promptly.”
He also revealed that there is a plan to introduce a special card to facilitate access to healthcare services, allowing people to receive necessary treatment anywhere in the country.
