DMP files 2,001 cases against traffic rule violations

DHAKA, May 15, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 2,001 cases against motor vehicles for violating 
traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and 
realized the money on Wednesday (May 14) through their regular drives 
against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 190 motor vehicles were dumped and 132 vehicles were wrecked due 
to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media 
and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the 
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
