KU workshop highlights importance of intellectual property rights

KHULNA, Apr 6, 2026 (BSS) - A workshop at Khulna University today emphasized the importance of protecting research through intellectual property (IP) rights for national development.

Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Rezaul Karim inaugurated the workshop titled "Intellectual Property Rights and Protection Strategies" at the Journalist Liaquat Ali Auditorium on the campus.

The event was organized by the Technology Transfer Office (TTO) under the HEAT sub-project.

Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid Khan and Treasurer Prof Dr Md Nurunnabi spoke as special guests.

Prof Dr Kazi Mohammad Didarul Islam, Senior Programme Manager of the project and Director of the Research and Innovation Centre, presided over the session, while Prof Dr Md Yamin Kabir, Assistant SPM of the project, delivered the welcome speech. Research Officer Sajjad Hossain Tuhin moderated the event.

After the inaugural session, three technical and three discussion sessions were held, focusing on strategies for protecting innovations across different disciplines at national and international levels.
