MYMENSINGH, April 6, 2026 (BSS) - Education Minister Dr A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon today said the upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations will be held across the country in a completely fair, transparent, and orderly manner without adopting any unfair means.

“No kind of irregularity or negligence in the answer sheet evaluation process will be tolerated. If any allegation of such misconduct by examiners in assessment is proven, strict action will be taken against those responsible,” he said.

Milon made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion held with the head examiners of  Mymensingh Education Board and the Madrasah and Technical Education Boards of the Mymensingh region regarding the SSC and equivalent examinations–2026.

The minister said alongside the smooth conduct of examinations, strict adherence to the prescribed guidelines in answer-sheet evaluation must be ensured.

He said responsible and professional role from examiners is essential to ensure the accurate reflection of students’ true merit and achievement.

He said initiatives have been taken to update the Public Examinations (Offences) Act, 1980 in a timely manner so that, in addition to public examinations, those involved in question leaks, fraud, and cheating in various government recruitment examinations can also be brought under the law.

Referring to past irregularities, he said that the tendency to show artificial success in examination results undermines the quality of education. Such unethical practices must be completely eliminated to build an accountable and quality education system, he said.

He said various programmes are being implemented as part of the government’s continuous efforts to improve the quality of education system. In this regard, coordinated efforts of teachers, administration and all concerned stakeholders are very important.

Lawmakers from various constituencies of the region, concerned officials and other stakeholders attended the meeting.
