Mirza Fakhrul leaves for China on official visit

DHAKA, April 19, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Secretary General and LGRD and Co-operatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has left for China on an official visit at the invitation of the Chinese government.

BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to BSS.

Fakhrul departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a China Airlines flight at 10:15 pm. He is accompanied by his Assistant Private Secretary Yunus Ali.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen saw them off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.

Recently, a 19-member high-level delegation of BNP visited China at the invitation of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the head of the delegation, will join them in Beijing.

The delegation will hold a formal meeting with Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, in Beijing.
