15,184 litres of fuel seized in nationwide drives

DHAKA, April 19, 2026 (BSS) - Mobile court drives across the country have seized 15,184 litres of illegally stockpiled fuel in the past two days, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division said today.

According to a press release, 561 mobile courts were conducted nationwide, recovering 10,458 litres of diesel, 4,109 litres of petrol and 617 litres of octane.

During the operations, 186 cases were filed, two individuals were jailed and Tk 812,900 was realized in fines.

Executive magistrates of the Energy Division carried out the drives in Dhaka and other areas as part of regular enforcement to curb fuel hoarding and ensure stable supply.

The division said such operations will continue to maintain discipline in the fuel market and ensure uninterrupted supply across the country.
