DHAKA, June 1, 2025 (BSS) – BanglaFact, a fact-checking and media research team of Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB), has identified a photocard, with a quotation of Chief Adviser on delaying national election for giving time to the newly formed party, as digitally manipulated and fake.

According to the Banglafact digital investigation report, there has been no evidence of such quotation of Chief Adviser where he was saying, “It would be too hurry to arrange election this December since students formed a party and we should give them time for organizing the party”.

Such statement of Chief Adviser Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus was not found in any other news media or news outlets, the fact check team said.

The investigation also found that the viral fake photocard, designed with the logo of daily Kaler Kanto newspaper, was digitally manipulated and there has been no trace of such photocard in the official page of Kaler kanto.

The investigation found several inconsistencies in the manipulated photocard including text font, size and single quotation mark.

Noting the origin of the manipulated version, the report said the photocard published on Kaler Kantho's verified Facebook page on May 30 with the title 'Only one party wants elections in December: Chief Advisor', was edited using digital technology and the title was changed to create the manipulated photocard.
