DHAKA, Jan 25, 2026 (BSS) - During the interim government, the Information and Communication Technology Division has launched 19 more new cloud services to increase the capacity of the National Data Centre (NDC).
In this regard, the capacity of various components of the NDC cloud facility has increased manifold.
In addition, the capacity of five main components - physical infrastructure, storage, memory and processing power, security and monitoring - has been expanded several times, said a press release of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.
The capacity of the existing Disaster Recovery Data Centre currently operating under the National Data Centre is insufficient and inconsistent with the actual demand. So, to provide a permanent solution to this problem and to meet future needs, a completely new, three-story Tier-3 certified complete disaster recovery data centre is under construction at Jashore Software Technology Park.
This data centre will have more than 200 high-power IT cabinets and racks, where AI workloads can be hosted along with computing workloads. Currently, this capacity is only 16 general power-efficient racks.
Nutanix Private Cloud Infrastructure has been established as a high-power computing infrastructure to provide email systems and cloud storage hosting services to more than 600 government organisations.
Modern GPU services have also been included under this infrastructure, which will play an important role in managing AI workloads of various government applications as well as launching innovative services based on Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM).
In addition, emphasis is being put on the use of DevOps and DevSecOps technologies in modernising important and sensitive government digital applications and software lifecycle management, the press release said.
