Bangladesh to participate Men's Hockey Asia Cup

DHAKA, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh will take part in the 2025 Men's Hockey Asia Cup scheduled to be held in Rajgir, India from 27 August to 7 September, a press release from Bangladesh Hockey Federation confirmed today.

Bangladesh has received a late invitation to replace Pakistan, which withdrew from the tournament citing security concerns.

BHF general secretary Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Reazul Hasan informed BSS that the Asian Hockey Federation has officially invited the Bangladesh Hockey team to participate in the Asia Cup 2025 and Bangladesh hockey team is prepared to participate in the competition.

"With only nine days left for the tournament, securing visas has now become the biggest challenge," he said, adding that the federation expects to receive the necessary government order (GO) later today and apply for visas tomorrow.

Hasan further said that the national team has already been in training camp for the past five days.
