DHAKA, Aug 22, 2025 (BSS) - Inter-district age group girls' swimming competition, marking the Festival of Youth 2025, has begun at Dhanmondi Riya Gope women's sports complex in the capital today. 

Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) vice president and Mia Bhai Foundation chairman Mizanur Rahman formally opened the two-day meet as the chief. 

A total of 107 swimmers from 22 districts across the country are competing in nine events of the meet, organised by Bangladesh Women's Sports Association. 
 
The nine events are 50m freestyle, 50m back stroke, 100m back stroke, 50m breast stroke, 100m breast stroke, 50m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 100m free style and 200m individual medley.

Youth and Sports Secretary Md Mahbub-Ul Alam is expected to attend the closing ceremony tomorrow as the chief guest and distribute prizes, while National Sports Council Secretary Aminul Islam will grace the occasion as special guest.
