Over 13 lakh children fed Vitamin A capsules in Chattogram

CHATTOGRAM, March 15, 2025 (BSS) - More than 13 lakh children aged 6-59 months received Vitamin A Plus capsules today during a day-long campaign in the city.

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr Shahdat Hossain inaugurated the medical campaign by administering a capsule to a child at the city's Memon Hospital this morning.

The campaign ran from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm as part of the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 2025.

Civil Surgeon Dr Jahangir Alam also launched the campaign in the Banskhali Sadar area at 8:00 am.

Under the supervision of the Chattogram City Corporation (CCC), approximately 530,000 children received Vitamin A Plus capsules at 1,321 centers. Meanwhile, the Civil Surgeon's office oversaw the administration of capsules to 825,716 children at 4,831 centers.

Over 20,000 volunteers participated in the campaign across CCC and Chattogram district.
