Army arrests 3, recovers illegal arms in Magura

MAGURA, Mar 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army recovered huge illegal arms and arrested three individuals through a special drive here early this morning.

Based on intelligence information, a special army team of Magura Army camp led by Major Shafin conducted the drive at Parnanduali village under Sadar upazila around 3am last night, recovered huge weapons and arrested three in this connection.

The arrestees are Maruf Hossain, 35, son of Abdul Mazid hailed from Parnanduali village under Sadar Upazila, Likhon Hossain, 28, son of Salam Hossain hailed from same village and Ashiqur Rahman, 30, son of Atiar Rahman.

The recovered weapons include two shooter guns, ten round live bullets, one air gun, 60 round air gun bullets, eight explosives, one tear shell (looted from police), five local sharp weapons, five mobile phones and a laptop.

Later, the arrested were handed over to Magura Sadar Police Station.

"The army has handed over the recovered arms along with three arrestees with Sadar police station at 7am. The legal process are being under way against them", said Sub Inspector (SI) Ripon of the Magura Sadar Police Station.
