NAOGAON, April 16, 2025 (BSS) - A 77-year-old man was killed and two others were injured in a tragic road accident in front of Khajur union parishad office in Mohadevpur upazila this morning. 

The deceased was identified as Siraj Ali, son of the late Afsar Ali, hailing from Sonakuri village in Mohadevpur upazila.

According to eyewitnesses, Siraj Ali was traveling to Mohadevpur Bazaar in a battery-powered van when the accident occurred. As the vehicle approached the Khajur union parishad area, it swerved to avoid a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction and fell into a roadside ditch.
 
Siraj Ali died on the spot, two other passengers sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Officer-in-Charge of Mohadevpur Police Station, Shahin Reza confirmed the incident and said, "Although no formal complaint has been filed so far, we will conduct a thorough investigation and take appropriate legal action once a complaint is received."
