BGB seizes goods worth Tk 2.5cr in Sylhet

SYLHET, April 16, 2025 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized various goods worth Tk 2.5 crore from the Sylhet and Sunamganj borders last night.

“Based on a tip-off BGB conducted raids in several areas of the border, including Bichanakadi, Shonarhat, Panthumai,Songgram, Banglabazar, Sreepur, Protappur, Utma and Lafars on Tuesday night and recovered the goods,” said a press notification, signed by Lt. Col. Najmul Haque of Sylhet BGB (48) battalion.

The recovered goods include sunglasses, cows, sharee, chocolates, sugar, cosmetics and fast-food items.

BGB is actively working to prevent smuggling and ensure border security.
