CHATTOGRAM, April 17, 2025 (BSS) - A woman was killed in a road accident in the Kumira area under Sitakunda upazila along the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway here.

Deceased Khadiza Khatun, 24, wife of Rashed Al Mahmud of Mandaritola village of the upazila, was an honours fourth-year student at Sitakunda University College.

Locals said the accident occurred as a covered van hit a motorcycle in the area yesterday night, leaving motorcycle rider Khadiza injured critically.

Later, members of Fire Service and locals took her to Chattogram Medical College Hospital where the duty doctor declared her dead.

Legal action has been taken in this regard.
