Youth drowns in Halda River

CHATTOGRAM, April 17, 2025 (BSS) - An expatriate youth drowned in Halda River near Shiddhasram Ghat under Fatikchari upazila of the district last night.

The victim is Nur Uddin Manju, 30, son of Nurul Islam of Chanderghona village of the upazila.

The incident occurred when motorbike rider Manju was crossing the river on a bamboo bridge, which collapsed, causing him to fall into the river. Since then, he had been remained missing. 

Members of Fire Service recovered his body in the early hours of today. 

The body was handed over to the family members.
