HABIGANJ, April 17, 2025 (BSS) - Four houses were gutted when lightning struck an area in Baniachang Upazila of the district.

Locals said the thunderstorm hit Nur Miah's house adjacent to Jonab Ali College in Baniachang Upazila last afternoon. This caused a devastating fire in the house

After getting the information, a team of Baniachang Fire Service and Civil Defense hurriedly rushed to the spot and were able to douse the flame.

According to the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Baniachang Police Station Kabir Hossain , the abandoned house of the Government Jonab Ali Degree College and three houses of Nuruddin Miah were burnt in the blaze.
