TANGAIL, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS) - Ghatail Upazila administration paid homage today at the grave of martyr Hafez Sadiq at Karimganj Ghona Para graveyard of the upazila, commemorating the anniversary of the mass uprising.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Abu Sayeed led the tribute by placing a floral wreath on Sadiq's grave this morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Ghatail Police Station Md. Mir Mosharraf Hossain, Upazila Livestock Officer Bahauddin Sarwar Rizvi and others were present at the time.

Hafez Sadiq, a resident of Karimganj Ghona Para village in Sagardighi Union, Ghatail Upazila, joined a protest march with his classmates on the road after Friday prayers on July 19, 2024. He was fatally shot during police firing at the protest.
