Manikganj, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - Launch services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route resumed at 7 am today after a 13-hour suspension due to damage caused by strong river currents, officials said.

Paturia Launch Ghat Manager Panna Lal Nandi told BSS that the service was suspended around 6 pm on Friday after temporary Launch Ghat No. 2 was badly damaged by the strong current of the Padma River.

The suspension of launch movement disrupted communication with 32 districts in the south-western region of the country.

Earlier, on Tuesday, the main Launch Ghat No. 1 was swept away by the Padma's current, forcing authorities to shift operations to the temporary Ghat No. 2. However, erosion of the soil beneath the ramp of Ghat No. 2 later made it unusable, leading to the latest suspension.

Local authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and assess long-term solutions for stabilizing the launch terminals, officials informed.
