NARAYANGANJ, August 9, 2025 (BSS) - A schoolboy was killed in a road accident near Kanchpur Bridge in Sonargaon upazila of the district last night.

The deceased was identified as Dipu, 10, son of Sagar of Senpara in the upazila.

The accident took place around 10:30 pm on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway when a truck ran over Dipu, said Kanchpur Highway Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Quader Jilani.

He died on the spot.

Efforts are underway to arrest the driver. The body was handed over to the family, the OC said.
