2 held with 52.5-kg ganja from Rangpur

RANGPUR, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) – The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested two suspected drug peddlers with 52.5 kilogramme   (KG) of ganja from Mahiganj Satmatha area under Mahiganj Metropolitan Police Station in the city this afternoon.
 
Acting on a tip off, a team of RAB-13’s Sadar Company set up a check post on the road there, searched a passenger bus, seized the smuggled ganja and the bus and arrested two persons from the spot at 1:45 pm, a press release said.
 
The detainees are Md Masum alias Masud, 24, son of late Abdul Hakim of village Hingan Roy under Sadar Police Station and bus driver Shree Shuvo Kumar Saha, 35, son of Mukul Saha of village Debipur under Nageshwari Police Station of Kurigram district.
 
The elite force handed over the arrested persons along with the seized ganja and vehicle to Mahiganj Metropolitan Police Station of Rangpur Metropolitan Police, the release added.
