Free eye camp held in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Sept 21, 2025 (BSS) - A day-long free eye camp was held on the ground of Jhineswar High School under Ballamjhar union of Sadar upazila in the district yesterday. 

Morium Eye Hospital of the town here organized the camp with the financial support of Sharjah Charity International (SCI), Bangladesh Office. 

A team of doctors from Morium Hospital here provided treatment, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, to underprivileged patients at the eye camp.

The patients were also provided with medicines and eyeglasses free of cost.

As many as 500 underprivileged children and adults received free eye treatment at the camp.

Apart from it, several patients were diagnosed and necessary measures were taken to send them to Morium Eye Hospital, Rangpur, for cataract operation, sources said. 

The free eye screening camp aimed to identify and treat every underprivileged person, mostly financially unable to seek treatment.
