Two youths held with firearm in Khulna

KHULNA, April 7, 2026 (BSS) - Police arrested two youths with a foreign-made pistol in the city this afternoon. 
The arrestees were identified as Mamun Molla, 30, son of Hafiz Molla of Haji Fayez Uddin Cross Road, and Lavlu Ahmed, 28, son of Badrul Alam of Rayermohol Mosque area.

Sub-Inspector Nadim Mahmud of Sonadanga Model Police Station said a patrol team spotted three youth talking in front of a house on Haji Fayez Uddin Road at Boyra Aziz intersection around 3:45 pm.

Sensing police presence, one of them fled, prompting suspicion. Police then searched the remaining two, who were on a motorcycle, and recovered a foreign pistol and a magazine from Lavlu’s waist.

They were taken to the police station for further questioning.

Officer-in-Charge Md. Rafiqul Islam said a case under the Arms Act is being prepared against the two suspects.
