RCC seeks traders' cooperation to keep footpaths encroachment-free

RAJSHAHI, June 18, 2026 (BSS) - Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Md Mahfuzur Rahman Riton has sought the cooperation of traders in keeping the city's footpaths free from encroachment to ensure safe and smooth movement of pedestrians.

During an inspection of the area from the city's heritage Ghora Chattar to Bondhogate on Wednesday afternoon, he directed the concerned officials to expedite the repair of roads damaged due to the construction of the flyover in the area.

The RCC Administrator stressed the need to keep footpaths free from encroachment and requested traders not to display or keep their goods on pedestrian walkways.

"Footpaths are designated for pedestrians. To ensure unhindered movement of the public, everyone must keep footpaths free from encroachment. I seek the cooperation of traders and all concerned in this regard," he said.

RCC Chief Executive Officer Md Rezaul Karim, Secretary Sohel Rana, Superintending Engineers Khairul Baker and Ahmad Al Moin Parag, and Executive Engineers Mahmudur Rahman Emon and Nilufar Yasmin, among others, were present during the inspection.
