Truck driver killed in Bogura road accident

BOGURA, June 18, 2026 (BSS) - A truck driver was killed and his assistant seriously injured in a head-on collision between two trucks in Bogura's Dupchanchia upazila early Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 30, son of late Salauddin of Hashempur village in Patnitala upazila of Naogaon district. 

The injured assistant, Hriday, is currently receiving treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge Tajlimur Rahman of Dupchanchia Police Station said the accident occurred around 3 am on the Bogura-Naogaon highway in Tishigari area.

A mango-laden truck travelling from Naogaon to Noakhali collided head-on with a sand-laden truck travelling from Bogura to Naogaon. 

Anwar Hossain, the driver of the mango-laden truck, died on the spot, while his assistant sustained serious injuries.

The officer added that the body was recovered in the morning and both trucks involved in the crash have been seized. Legal proceedings in connection with the incident are underway.
