DHAKA, Aug 21, 2025 (BSS) - A young man was crushed by a cargo lift in the capital's Karful area on Wednesday night.
 
The deceased was identified as Akbar Hossain, 26, a private car driver and son of Mohammad Abdul Hai, hailed from Paschim Joynagar village under Lalmohan Police Station in Bhola district. Akbar had been living in a rented house in the capital’s Pallabi area. 

The accident occurred around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, police and family sources said.
 
Mohammad Ashraful Alam, the victim's brother, said he received a message last night stating that his brother had been seriously injured after being crushed by a cargo lift in the Shewrapara area and was undergoing treatment at Green Life Hospital.

As his condition deteriorated, Akbar was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
