BHOLA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - Launch services on 20 routes in Bhola resumed operations today after a suspension of eight days due to adverse weather conditions and monsoon winds.

The services were halted from August 17.

As the weather condition is congenial, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has allowed the launch operations here from Monday morning.

Port officer Riyad Hossain said BIWTA had suspended navigation on 20 internal routes in the district due to the turbulent rivers in these coastal areas.

Bhola Meteorological Department Observer Md. Moniruzzaman told BSS that the weather here is normal now as the low pressure formed in the North Bay of Bengal has weakened.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Bhola Regional Manager Kausar Ahmed said the ferry services on the Bhola-Barishal and Bhola-Lakshmipur routes have returned to normal due to normal weather conditions.
