DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) –The Dhaka University (DU) administration has made key decisions for Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and hall union elections-2025.

Students who do not wish to display their photographs in the voter list must apply to the Chief Returning Officer by August 27.

Election campaign in student’s  halls will be allowed from August 26 to September 7, between 10 am to  10 pm daily for the resident, non-resident students and candidates.

Though  the final voter list remains temporarily closed for public access, it will still be available in  concerned departments and hall authorities.

Following scrutiny, some nominations were confirmed valid, though two candidates, Julius Caesar Talukder and Bayezid Bostami, were recommended for exclusion from the voter list and candidature due to alleged involvement in terrorists acts and with banned organizations.

The issue was sent to university syndicate for administrative action in this regard.

Allegations against candidates Asaduzzaman Jilani and Md. Khairul Alam were found unproven, as the signatures of the complainants were not found in the complaint.
The university administration has urged all students, teachers and other stakeholders to extend all out cooperation for holding a fair and peaceful election.
