DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police today arrested a mugger on charges of stabbing a senior police officer to evade arrest from the capital’s Kawran Bazar area. 
 
The arrestee has been identified as Md Ripon, 30. 
 
Deputy Commissioner of DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman told BSS that they arrested Ripon from Kawran Bazar area around 6pm today. 
 
Ripon evaded arrest after stabbing an additional deputy commissioner posted at Bangabhaban area Sumon Reza near Kawran Bazar metro station on August 12 last.
