29.5pc growth of remittance inflow till April 7

DHAKA, April 8, 2026 (BSS) - Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 29.5 percent reaching US$823 million in the first seven days of April, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued here today.
 
Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $636 million.
 
During the July to April 7, 2026 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $27,032 million, which was $22,421 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
