LAKSHMIPUR, March 29, 2025 (BSS) - A mother and her 3-year-old son were killed and three others injured in a fatal road accident in Terbaki area on the Lakshmipur-Maju Chowdhury Hat road of the district today.

The deceased were identified as 18-year-old Juty Begum and her son Sihab Hossain, residents of Shakchar area under Sadar upazila of the district.

Juty's husband, Sharif Hossain, along with two others, Abu Taher and Raza Mia, were critically injured in the accident.

The accident occurred when a passenger bus of 'Jonaki Paribahan' collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw in Terbaki area, leaving Juty Begum dead on the spot.

The injured were admitted to Sadar Hospital and subsequently transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

Three-year old Sihab Hossain succumbed to his injuries on the way to DMCH.

Legal action has been taken in this regard.
