Union parishad chairman arrested in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested Md. Alinoor Box, chairman of Daragram union parishad, in connection with a case related to arson and violence at Daragram High School under Daragram union in Saturia upazila here in the district.

He was detained this afternoon from the Union parishad premises.

Md. Alinoor Box, son of Elahi Box, is a member of the Saturia upazila unit of the fascist Awami League. 

He was elected chairman of the Daragram union parishad in the last election as an Awami League candidate, contesting with the party's 'boat' symbol.

Confirming the arrest, Saturia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shahinul Islam said that legal proceedings are underway in the case.
