Fugitive arrested in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Aug 13, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a fugitive who had escaped from Gazipur's Kashimpur High-Security Prison, in Narsingdi on Wednesday.

The detainee was identified as Mohammad Ali, 29, son of Md Alam Mia of Hasnabad Purbo Para under Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB arrested him around 8 pm from the Sadar Road area in Narsingdi Sadar upazila, Md Jewel Rana, camp commander of RAB-11, confirmed.

The fugitive was handed over to Sadar Police Station for legal proceedings.

According to RAB sources, Mohammad Ali was serving time in a narcotics case filed with Raipura Police Station. He escaped from Kashimpur High-Security Prison on August 6 last year and had been in hiding since then.

A case over the prison break was later filed against him at Gazipur's Konabari Police Station.
